John Lizana, SPHR, Client Services Director

John is a senior level human resources practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the field. John joined PROXUS over 10 years ago and currently serves as a Client Services Director. In that capacity he is responsible for leading project engagements and managing various human resource functional areas for clients across a diverse range of industries.

John is an experienced generalist whose breadth and depth of knowledge across multiple disciplines serve him well in providing human resources consultation to the management team and employees of small - midsized clients. The leaders of organizations rely heavily on the guidance and direction John provides specific to managing and aligning their workforce with critical business strategies.

An accomplished project leader and consultant, John has successfully managed engagements for client companies including business unit acquisitions and divestitures, wage and salary program analysis and administration, policy and procedure development, job description and performance management as well as resolution of complex employee relations matters.

John has also stepped into key leadership roles within client organizations to help them through difficult transitions or address specific needs on an interim basis. Whether it was managing professional and executive level recruitment for an apparel manufacturer, overseeing the entire HR function and developing a departmental budget for a bio-tech firm or developing policies and processes as the HR leader for a 1,300 employee home health services provider, John was able to meet the need and exceed client expectations.

Prior to joining PROXUS John held human resource management positions of increasing responsibility in the financial service and telecommunications sectors. At Credit Lyonnais in New York he advanced from a generalist role handling recruitment, compensation and employee relations to a benefits officer responsible for managing the benefits and retirement programs. Later at ATX Communications John lead a staff of 10 and oversaw the entire human resources department.

John is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds a bachelor?s degree in Business and Economics from Lehigh University and is a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. He is fluent in Spanish as well.
