On Friday, December 22, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) once again extended the deadline for furnishing 2017 Forms 1095-B and 1095-C from January 31, 2018 to March 2, 2018.
These extensions apply to all filers, including Applicable Large Employers, health insurers, and employers that sponsor self-insured health plans.
Due to this extension, some individual taxpayers may not receive a Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C by the time they are ready to file their 2017 tax return. Taxpayers do not need to wait to receive these forms before filing their returns.
Important: This Notice does not extend the due date for electronic filing with the IRS, which remains as April 2, 2018. This is the date by which PROXUS must file client 1094 and 1095 forms.
